Technical parts search engine
A small piece of software to track parts that are not in the ERP: which sub-assembly and vehicle they belong to, and where to find them.
The problem
This tool was born between two production departments: one makes parts, the other builds sub-assemblies for a production line. These parts were not tracked in the ERP. Adding them would have been too long and too costly, and spreadsheets were a poor fit. A separate, simple system was needed so both departments work with the same information.
The tool
A search engine dedicated to parts outside the ERP: a single search bar, instant results, and for each part its sub-assembly, vehicle and location, with an internal ordering system independent of the ERP, logistics and purchasing.
How it works
- Instant search: find a part by its reference, name or synonyms, even among several thousand references.
- Membership: see, for each part, the sub-assembly and vehicle it belongs to.
- Location: know where the part is.
- Filters by family: combinable with text search.
- Internal orders: create and track orders between departments, then export them to CSV, Excel or PDF.
- A catalogue easy to keep up to date: imported from a CSV file and updated by simply replacing the file.
What it changes
- Parts outside the ERP finally tracked: without weighing down the ERP or launching an IT project.
- Two departments sharing the same information: the department that makes the parts and the one that assembles them see the same references and locations.
- A part found in seconds: with its sub-assembly, vehicle and location.
- No more forgotten orders: tracking no longer relies on Kanban cards, which could get lost.

A tool that connects to the others
Each part is already linked to a sub-assembly, a vehicle and a location: this catalogue can serve directly as a base for other tools.
- With theline balancing : parts can be linked to the tasks that fit them. From a station, you find the list of parts used and where they are, and a changed part flags the tasks concerned.
- With thetooling : a part can be linked to the jigs and instruments needed to make or inspect it.
- With the production cockpit : internal orders between departments can automatically feed flow and work-in-progress tracking, with no double entry.
Our demos are shown separately, but nothing prevents linking them. With a shared database, the tools can form a real intranet built around your business: each department uses its own screens, and information entered once is available everywhere.
